One morning, a loud, angry chatter broke the quiet forest. Below Sophie's branch, two animals were shouting at each other.
Pip the squirrel and Barnaby the rabbit argued loudly over a sweet patch of clover, neither one willing to share.
Sophie watched them from her high branch, wishing she could help her grumpy neighbors understand the joy of sharing.
As the silver moon rose, Sophie began to spin a new kind of web, looping her silk into a special story.
She worked all through the night, weaving a picture of two friends happily planting a beautiful garden together.
Exhausted but happy, Sophie tucked herself under a leaf to sleep just as the cool morning mist began to roll in.
As dawn broke, glistening dew droplets clung to the web, magnifying the secret story like tiny, sparkling crystal lenses.
Pip and Barnaby stopped their shouting. They gasped as they looked up at the sparkling picture of two friends sharing a sweet treat.
The angry feelings melted away. Pip smiled softly and handed Barnaby a sweet clover stem, choosing to share at last.
The two happy friends sat together in the soft grass, laughing and pointing up at the magical, glowing web.
High above, Sophie smiled warmly. Her web had brought peace, and she couldn't wait to spin her next story for the forest.
