The story

Barnaby the kitten loved exploring the sunny garden. He knew every bright pathway and warm spot to play.

But as the sun began to set, long shadows stretched across the grass. The familiar garden turned into a dark, mysterious maze.

Suddenly, Barnaby's favorite toy mouse slipped through a narrow gap in the wooden fence. It squeaked softly from the pitch-black side.

Barnaby crept up to the dark, narrow opening in the fence. He peeked inside, unsure if his little body could fit through.

Barnaby leaned close and closed his eyes. He let his long, delicate whiskers fan out to touch the rough wooden edges.

The gentle tickle of his whiskers told him a secret. He could feel exactly how wide the opening was, even in the deep dark.

Barnaby took a brave step into the dark gap. His whiskers bent gently, signaling that his shoulders would easily fit.

Guided by the gentle touch of his whiskers, Barnaby wiggled deeper into the dark passage, feeling safe with every step.

Deep inside the dark tunnel, Barnaby spotted a tiny sparkle. His lost toy mouse was waiting for him just ahead.

With a soft pounce, Barnaby happily scooped up his favorite toy. He held it tight, ready to make his way back.

Wiggling backward, Barnaby popped out of the narrow gap and back into the cool night air, holding his toy mouse tight.

Barnaby looked out at the dark garden and purred. His magical whiskers would always guide him through the night.
