The story

Bright colors and happy shouts filled the sunny playground. At the edge, a child stood alone, clutching a red backpack.

Suddenly, a bright yellow ball bounced away from the laughing group and rolled right to the child's feet.

Looking down, the child reached out and scooped up the warm, yellow ball. It felt like holding a little piece of the game.

Taking a deep breath, the child took one step forward. But inside, the simple word 'hello' felt as heavy as a mountain.

Across the grass, the other children paused their game. They looked over with friendly, curious eyes, waiting.

Squeezing the ball tightly, the child took another brave step forward. The distance between them was shrinking.

Now standing face-to-face with a new friend, the child took a deep, brave breath. It was time to speak.

Opening their mouth, the child let out a soft but clear, 'Hello!' The word danced in the warm afternoon air.

For a second, everything was quiet. Then, a wide, bright smile lit up the other child's face.

“Hi! Want to play tag with us?” the new friend asked warmly, reaching out to take the yellow ball.

With a happy nod, the child handed over the ball and stepped onto the playground. The heavy feeling was completely gone.

Running and laughing together, they played under the warm sun. One tiny word had opened up a whole new world of friendship.
