The story

Riley rolled their wheelchair through the quiet hallway, touching the familiar wooden doorframes. Today, the walls were bare.

Through the window, a giant yellow moving truck sat in the driveway, fully packed and ready for the long journey.

Riley’s parents called out from the front door. It was time to say goodbye, but a heavy lump filled Riley's throat.

Riley rolled into their empty bedroom. Without the colorful rugs and toys, the room echoed with a strange, hollow sound.

Riley closed their eyes. In the quiet room, they could still hear the faint, happy sound of their family’s laughter.

On the kitchen doorframe, faint pencil marks showed how much Riley had grown over the years.

Riley rolled into the center of the empty living room, where bright sunlight spilled across the bare floorboards.

A single tear slipped down Riley's cheek as they realized this would be the very last time they sat in this room.

Suddenly, Riley’s family rushed into the quiet room and wrapped them in a giant, warm, and comforting hug.

In that warm embrace, Riley realized that home wasn't made of wood and nails. It was made of the people who loved them.

The front door stood wide open, welcoming them into the bright sunlight of a brand-new day.

Riley waved a happy goodbye to the house. They knew that home wasn't made of walls, but of the family who loved them.
