A small family gathered around the wooden table. In the basket sat their only loaf of bread, golden and warm.
They looked at the small loaf, wondering if it would be enough. Suddenly, a soft knock echoed from the heavy wooden door.
Two cold, tired travelers stood outside in the chilly night air, politely asking for a warm place to rest.
With warm smiles, they welcomed the weary travelers inside, offering them the best seats by the cozy fireplace.
The children carefully broke the warm bread along its scored lines, handing the first golden wedges to their guests.
Just as they sat down, a friendly neighbor popped in to say hello, and they gladly shared another piece.
They passed the basket around, sharing the remaining pieces of bread with each new friend who arrived.
But as more hands reached into the small basket, something wonderful happened. Under the white cloth, new warm wedges of bread appeared.
No matter how many pieces they took, the basket remained full. The room filled with the sweet aroma of freshly baked bread.
Everyone ate their fill, laughing and sharing stories late into the night. Their hearts were as full as their plates.
When the feast was finally over, they gathered the leftovers. The basket was still overflowing with fresh, golden bread.
With full hearts, they realized the magic of sharing. There was not very much, and somehow there was always enough.
