The story

Daniel entered the king's glittering palace. While other boys cheered for the heavy sweets, he remembered the fresh food of his home.

The royal guard piled the tables high with heavy meats and sugary treats. "You must eat this to be strong!" he announced.

Daniel stepped forward bravely. "May I have simple vegetables and cool water instead?" he asked the worried guard.

The guard agreed to a ten-day trial. Soon, Daniel's plate was filled with crisp green peas and bright orange carrots.

While the other boys grew sleepy and slow from the heavy feasts, Daniel felt lighter and more energetic every single day.

Each morning, Daniel woke up early with a bright smile. He leaped out of bed, ready to run and play in the golden sunshine.

On the tenth day, the guard returned. He gasped to see Daniel glowing with health while the other boys slumped over, exhausted.

The day of the king's big test finally arrived. All the boys gathered in the grand courtyard to prove their strength.

The guards brought out heavy iron shields for the boys to lift. Many groaned, their arms too tired to budge the heavy metal.

Daniel stepped up with a bright smile. He lifted his heavy shield easily and ran like the wind across the sunny courtyard.

The king watched in wonder and declared Daniel the healthiest boy of all. Simple food and faith had made him truly strong.

Daniel happily shared his fresh vegetables with his new friends. They realized that simple, healthy things were the greatest treasures of all.
