About these stories
One boy, one notebook, and the small wild things at the edge of an ordinary garden. Pedro finds a duckling that has lost its mother, works out where the puddles go after the rain, discovers a beehive and learns to stand very still, follows a caterpillar until it is a butterfly, takes a boat down the river, meets the birds that arrive only in winter, and finally throws a party for all of it.
A series to read in order, though each one stands alone. They are quieter than the animal shelves and closer to home — nothing further away than a riverbank — and they are written for three- to six-year-olds, each ending with something to go and look for tomorrow.
