About these stories

Four stories, four cats: the lion on the savanna, the tiger in the jungle, the cheetah on the open plain and the jaguar in the shadows of the Americas. Each one is the true animal — where it lives, how it hunts, what makes it different from its cousins — told as a short, calm story about a cub finding its feet.

Tigers: Striped Hunters is about a cub who is nervous of the water and jumps anyway, which is the kind of courage a small listener recognises. All four are for ages three to six and take about five minutes to read.
