About these stories
The sea goes out and comes back twice a day, and sand is made of broken shells and rocks worn down by water — two of the calmest true facts a child can fall asleep on. Around them, three journeys: into a coral reef, down to the strange creatures of the deep ocean, and through the wetlands where so much life begins.
The Deep Ocean is written for a child who is a little afraid of the dark: the deepest, darkest water turns out to be full of light. Ages three to six, with Sand and The Sea pitched at four- and five-year-olds.
