About these stories

Continents drift a few centimetres a year, and mountains are what happens when they meet. Some volcanoes ooze and some explode, and islands are born from them. A city called Pompeii stopped mid-meal under the ash and was kept, accidentally, for two thousand years. Real earth science, told at bedtime volume.

Volcanoes and Life shows how new life grows after upheaval; The Glacier's Memory follows a glacier carrying the memory of mammoths and the first people down to the sea. Written for four- and five-year-olds, with the gentler stories for three-year-olds too.
