About these stories
The planet itself, at bedtime volume. Where rain comes from and where puddles go; why the sun does not go out at night; how continents drift and mountains form; why some volcanoes ooze and others explode; what sand is made of; why the sea comes back twice a day. Twenty-three stories about the ground under your feet and the sky over your head.
The shelf splits roughly in two. The short explanations — Rain, Snow, Sand, The Sea, Day and Night — are written for four- and five-year-olds. The journeys — into the rainforest, the deep ocean, the Sahara, a coral reef, a cave — are for three- to six-year-olds. Journey of a Raindrop and The Sky Dancers are the two to start with.
