Seeds

Deep in the cool, quiet earth, a tiny seed snuggled in the dark. It lay warm and safe, dreaming of nothing at all.

Suddenly, a soft tap-tap-tap echoed from above. Cool raindrops soaked into the dirt, gently tickling the sleeping seed.

A warm, golden ray of sunlight pierced the dark soil. It whispered to the seed, telling it it was time to wake up.

The little seed felt a sudden wiggle inside. With a tiny pop, it stretched out a pale root to hold onto the dark, cozy earth.

Next, it pushed a brave little green sprout upward. The tiny stem wiggled and squeezed past hard pebbles in the soil.

The dark dirt grew heavy, and a giant rock blocked the way. The little sprout stopped, feeling tired and afraid.

Remembering the warm light, the tiny sprout gathered its strength. It slowly bent and squeezed around the heavy, stubborn rock.

With the big rock behind it, the sprout climbed higher and higher. The dark soil began to feel warmer and lighter.

Just above, the soil began to crack. A bright glow shone down, guiding the tiny sprout through the very last layer of dirt.

Pop! The tiny green tip poked right through the soil. For the first time, it felt the cool, fresh air of the outside world.

The little sprout stretched taller, basking in the warm sunshine. It felt a gentle breeze dancing all around it.

The little sprout unfurled two tiny green leaves to greet the sun. It was finally home in the wide, beautiful light.
