Pete's Underwater World

Little Pete shivered on the sparkling ice. His friends splashed happily, but Pete clung to the edge, terrified of the freezing water.

Grandfather Penguin waddled over. He pointed through the clear ice, whispering of a secret, glowing world hidden deep below.

Pete held tight to Grandfather’s warm wing. Taking a deep, brave breath, he closed his eyes and leaped off the icy ledge.

Splash! The icy water stung at first, but then Pete opened his eyes to a magical forest of glowing green kelp.

Bright neon fish swirled around them in a sparkling dance, lighting up the deep blue water like tiny swimming stars.

A friendly baby seal zipped past them, leaving behind a long, swirling trail of sparkling silver bubbles.

Grandfather gently let go of Pete's wing and nodded. It was time for Pete to try swimming all by himself.

Taking a brave stroke, Pete swam forward on his own. He chased the silver bubbles toward a magnificent, glowing ice archway.

Gliding under the giant archway, Pete felt weightless and free. The dark, scary ocean had turned into a playground of wonders.

He did a joyful loop-de-loop in the water, his fears completely forgotten. The deep ocean was no longer a scary place.

Pete and Grandfather popped back up to the surface. Pete let out a joyful squeak, eager to tell his friends about his adventure.

With a happy splash, Pete dove right back in. He knew that sometimes, the things we fear most hold the most beautiful magic.
