Deep in the whispering pine forest, tiny Luna was born. She was the smallest pup in her pack, but her little nose was always twitching.
While her brothers and sisters wrestled and tumbled, Luna sat quietly, sniffing the fresh pine-scented breeze.
When winter's heavy snows arrived, the pack had to find a new home. They set out across the cold, white hills.
Trotting along a high, windy ridge, Luna suddenly caught a strange, sharp scent on the cold breeze.
Luna whimpered and tugged at her mother's fur, but the big wolves were too busy navigating the deep snow to notice.
Trusting her nose, Luna bravely trotted ahead. She sniffed the deep snow to find the source of the scary scent.
The sharp scent led her straight to a hidden danger. Just ahead, a blanket of thin, fragile ice covered a deep ravine.
Luna stopped right at the edge of the fragile ice and howled with all her might to warn her family.
Hearing her tiny but fierce howl, the big wolves skidded to a stop just inches from the crumbling ice edge.
The proud Alpha wolf stepped forward and gently nuzzled Luna. The entire pack looked at the tiny pup with deep gratitude.
With her nose guiding the way, Luna proudly led her family around the icy ravine and toward a safe path.
In the warm, sunny valley, Luna smiled. She had proved that even the smallest pup can be a mighty hero.
