Long ago, the world was quiet and green. There were no cars or big shops, only winding dirt paths over the hills.
To get what they needed, families walked together along the winding trails, carrying heavy baskets on their backs.
When the chilly autumn wind began to blow, a family needed a warm blanket. With no shops nearby, they had to make it by hand.
They visited the fluffy sheep in the meadow, gathering soft, white wool to spin into thread.
They carried the fresh wool down to the sparkling river, washing it clean in the cool, rushing water.
Next, they searched the deep forest, gathering bright red berries and sunny yellow marigolds to dye the wool.
Over a crackling fire, they boiled the berries and flowers. The white wool turned beautiful shades of red and gold.
With steady hands, they spun the colorful wool into thread and stretched it across a hand-carved wooden loom.
A sudden gust of wind blew through the trees! It tangled the colorful threads on the loom into a messy knot.
With patient fingers and gentle teamwork, they carefully untangled each knot, saving their hard work.
They wove the final rows of red and gold just as the very first snowflake of winter drifted down from the gray sky.
Wrapped in the warm blanket, they sat snugly by the fire. They smiled, knowing their own hands had made this beautiful story.
