Long ago in a quiet valley, everything moved slowly. People dragged heavy wooden sleds across the dirt, panting with every step.
Then, a smooth pebble tumbled down a steep hill. It zipped past a curious villager, rolling faster than anyone could run.
She held the round pebble, feeling its smooth, curved edges. An idea sparked: what if she could make a giant circle roll?
Using a sharp stone, she chipped away at a thick wooden log. She worked hard to carve her first big, flat circle.
She gave the heavy wooden disk a big push. It rolled a few feet, wobbled wildly, and fell flat into the soft dirt.
She did not give up. She smoothed the bumpy edges and carved a clean, round hole right through the center of the disk.
She slid a straight, sturdy branch through the center hole. Now the wooden wheel could spin freely around the stick.
She attached two of her new wooden wheels to a heavy wooden frame. It was time to see if they could carry a real load.
She piled heavy stones onto the cart, filling it to the very top. The villagers gathered around, whispering in doubt.
With a deep breath, she gave the heavy cart a firm push. The wheels spun, and the load glided forward with a gentle hum.
The amazed villagers cheered in delight. Soon, everyone in the valley was carving their own wooden wheels to make work easy.
Now, the whole world sped up. From heavy carts to playful toys, rolling wheels filled the valley with happy, whirring sounds.
