About these stories
Old stories from two sides of the world. From Greece, Hermes as a mischievous baby who invents the lyre out of a turtle shell, and Athena, who arrives fully grown and immediately starts organising Mount Olympus. From Japan, a kitsune — a fox spirit — living quietly in a family's garden, and a grandmother folding paper cranes that carry wishes across the sea.
These are the myths told small, at a child's height, with the gods as children and the lesson tucked inside the story: cleverness, planning, kindness to every creature, patience with the people who teach us. Ages three to six, about five minutes each.
